Soon to become a table!
Not long after we moved to Lethbridge last year, my wife and I started hanging out at Kapow! Comics downtown, playing boardgames with a bunch of fellow nerds. This was one of our first efforts to meet new people in our new hometown and to date it has gone very well.
Having now played a metric shitload of different games through that group (and having now purchased copies of many of them), we began knocking around the idea of setting up our own games room in the basement of our new place. The centrepiece of that room would be a big-ass gaming table, inspired by the kind of table you see on Wil Wheaton’s TableTop. Now, after months of talks, discussions, and planning, the work has officially begun: we bought the basic materials yesterday!
Now it’s simply a matter of doing some cutting, gluing, nailing and screwing to get this sucker ready to go.
More updates as the work progresses. I might even throw some of the work-in-progress pix onto my as-yet-unused Instagram account.
